A flirty conversation between two neighbours late at night in a cramped apartment building takes an unexpected turn after an unfortunate accident. When it’s closely followed by a second one, a clumsy man tries to clean up after himself, setting in motion a chain of dumb actions that implicate him further and further. By the time the police arrive at the scene, he has painted himself into a very tight corner.

The 10-minute short Sugar is a comedy of errors in which one bad decision leads to another one until there is nowhere left to go. Director Jeroen Annokkée and co-writer Dennis van de Ven display a dark sense of humour that gets turned up another notch in the coroner’s room. Sugar won many awards at a host of festivals, including best comedy and the audience award at the leading Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
