UEFA Champions League games are played at night in Europe, and as a result take place in the afternoon in South-America. To fans who want to watch club football at its highest level without losing their day job, it can pose a dilemma. In a series of funny spots, Champions League stars like Clarence Seedorf, Carles Puyol, Rio Ferdinand , Roberto Carlos, David Trezeguet and Alessandro del Piero help fans devise ways to watch the game—and drink a cold Heineken while they’re at it.

Heineken has been a UEFA Champions League partner since 2005 and both have fans around the world. In South America, however, watching a Champions League game is a different matter as it takes place during the day. Filming these spots had their own difficulties. Due to the players’ availability, each #ChampionTheMatch spot had to be filmed, edited and undergo post-production on the day of the event, and be published within eight hours after director Victor D. Ponten’s first shot.
