Quooker, a Dutch invention, is the world’s first 100°C boiling-water tap. Besides hot, cold and boiling water, the newest model also supplies cool sparkling and filtered water, all from one tap. Whether making your coffee and eggs for breakfast or preparing after-school noodles, comforting your daughter with a cup of tea, preparing dinner, making party drinks, heating your baby’s milk or anything else you can think of: Quooker is there to assist.
To create the Quooker commercial, a movable sink with detachable countertops was custom-made with a fully operational Quooker included. ‘It allowed for a lot of freedom to explore different settings at all of the locations,’ explains creative director Giuseppe du Crocq from New Amsterdam’s creative lab, who developed the idea with design and consulting firm Edenspiekermann and director YANi.
It’s more than making a cup of tea or cooking pasta. Quooker can be the kitchen-based centerpoint of everyday life.
Athough many people in the Netherlands by now have some idea of what Quooker is, too often they still think it’s probably too expensive and/or complicated. For the introduction of Quooker’s new features, the idea was to show the many roles it can play in people’s lives. Giuseppe: ‘It’s why we came up with “de kraan die alles kan” (‘the tap that can do anything’). It’s more than making a cup of tea or cooking pasta. Quooker can be the kitchen-based centerpoint of everyday life.’
Update (December 2019): we finished the third addition to the ‘Tap that does it all’ campaign; written and directed by our creative director Giuseppe du Crocq.
