Antony and the Johnsons’ song ‘Cut the World’ was originally written for the opera The Life and Death of Marina Abramović, which was screened in London as part of the 2012 Meltdown festival curated by Antony Hegarty (known as Anohni since 2015). The music video was directed by Nabil Elderkin and features performances by the Oscar nominated actor Willem Dafoe (Platoon, Shadow of the Vampire, Spider-Man), Dutch star Carice van Houten (Valkyrie, Game of Thrones, Brimstone) as well as an appearance by the legendary performance artist Marina Abramović.
