Like his previous film, the award-winning comedy-thriller Plan C (2012), writer/director Max Porcelijn’s The Glorious Works of G.F. Zwaen is about a man who finds himself out of his depth in a dangerous, complicated and high-stakes situation. In an intricately constructed plot, Zwaen needs to grapple with his publisher, his accountant, a crooked inspector, a tenacious detective, a crime boss and his girlfriend. The literary scene and the underworld rarely have much to do with each other, but Zwaen thinks he is smarter than any of them.

Featuring some of the same brilliant actors as Plan C, Max has crafted another smart crime thriller with elements of comedy. The Glorious Works of G.F. Zwaen presents the first lead role for actor Peter van de Witte, who was spotted by Max in the movie No Babies on the Field. Plan C stars Ruben van der Meer (the detective), Ton Kas (the inspector) and René van ’t Hof (the publisher) all return for The Glorious Works of G.F. Zwaen, where they are joined by Anniek Pheifer (the girlfriend) and one of Holland’s finest comedic actors, the incredible Michiel Romeyn (the crime boss).
